The AD7655AST is a low-cost, 4-channel, 16-bit successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter from Analog Devices. It achieves a throughput of 500 kSPS in normal mode and 444 kSPS in impulse mode, with no pipeline delay. The device includes two track-and-hold amplifiers with a multiplexer for four-channel input, allowing simultaneous sampling of two input pairs.
Key electrical specifications include a 0 V to 5 V analog input voltage range, single 5 V supply operation, and typical power dissipation of 120 mW at full throughput. In impulse mode at 10 kSPS, power consumption drops to 2.6 mW. The ADC offers both parallel and serial interfaces compatible with SPI, QSPI, MICROWIRE, and DSP.
The AD7655AST is housed in a 48-lead LQFP package (7x7 mm) and is designed for surface mount assembly. It is suitable for applications such as AC motor control, 3-phase power control, 4-channel data acquisition, and uninterrupted power supplies. The device is pin-to-pin compatible with the lower-cost AD7654.
