The AD7628KRZ is a monolithic dual 8-bit digital-to-analog converter from Analog Devices. It features excellent DAC-to-DAC matching and separate on-chip latches for each DAC, enabling easy microprocessor interface. The device operates from a +12V to +15V power supply with low power dissipation of 20 mW. Data is transferred via a common 8-bit TTL/CMOS compatible input port with a DAC A/DAC B select line. The AD7628 is bus compatible with most 8-bit microprocessors including 6502, 6809, 8085, and Z80. Both DACs offer four-quadrant multiplication characteristics with separate reference inputs and feedback resistors. The converter uses an R-2R architecture and provides current-unbuffered output. It has a settling time of 400 ns and INL/DNL of ±0.5 LSB (max) and ±1 LSB (max) respectively. The device is available in a 20-SOIC surface mount package and operates over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. It is RoHS3 compliant and has an MSL of 1 (unlimited). Typical applications include audio, graphics, and process control systems where matched DACs are required.
