The AD7545AKR is a CMOS 12-bit buffered multiplying DAC from Analog Devices. It provides 12-bit resolution with a single current output channel and uses an external voltage reference. The parallel interface uses a 12-bit wide word; CS and WR control the onboard latches, and tying both low makes the latches transparent for unbuffered operation. The inputs are fast TTL compatible, allowing direct connection to most 12- and 16-bit bus systems.
Electrical specifications for the K-grade include a maximum gain error of ±1 LSB and a maximum differential nonlinearity of ±1 LSB, with 12-bit monotonic performance. Gain drift is a typical 2 ppm/°C. The device operates from a single +5 V to +15 V supply, and with CMOS logic levels at the inputs, it dissipates less than 0.5 mW at VDD = +5 V. The AD7545AKR is also latch-free, so no Schottky protection diode is required.
The multiplying DAC architecture allows an external reference to set the full-scale current, making the device suitable for digitally controlled gain or attenuation circuits. It is packaged in a 20-lead SOIC surface mount package with gull-wing leads, suited for embedded and portable designs.
It operates from a single supply between +5 V and +15 V.
It is offered in a surface mount 20-SOIC package (0.295", 7.50 mm width), with 20 pins.
12-bit resolution.
A parallel 12-bit wide data bus.
Maximum gain error is ±1 LSB for the K-grade at VDD = +5 V or +15 V, TA = +25°C.
Maximum DNL is ±1 LSB over the full temperature range, and the DAC is 12-bit monotonic.
RoHS3 compliant is listed in the database, but the compliance status is unverified.
