The AD7538KR is a 14-bit monolithic CMOS digital-to-analog converter (DAC) manufactured by Analog Devices. It uses laser-trimmed thin-film resistors to achieve excellent linearity, with integral nonlinearity (INL) of ±1 LSB maximum and differential nonlinearity (DNL) of ±1 LSB maximum. The device offers a typical settling time of 1.5 µs and provides a current-unbuffered output.
The DAC is loaded by a single 14-bit wide word using standard chip select and memory write logic. Double buffering, which is optional using the LDAC pin, allows simultaneous updates in systems containing multiple AD7538s. The device accepts TTL or CMOS logic level inputs and is speed compatible with most microprocessors.
The AD7538KR operates from a supply voltage range of 11.4 V to 15.75 V and is specified for an operating temperature range of 0°C to 70°C. It is available in a 24-SOIC (0.295", 7.50mm Width) surface-mount package. The device uses an external voltage reference.
