The AD7524SQ from Analog Devices is a low-cost, 8-bit monolithic CMOS Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) designed for direct interface with microprocessors. It incorporates on-chip data latches and offers endpoint linearity with monotonicity guaranteed over the full temperature range.
This DAC operates from +5 V to +15 V and is compatible with TTL/CMOS inputs. It boasts excellent multiplying characteristics, making it suitable for 2- or 4-quadrant applications. The AD7524SQ provides accuracy up to ±1/8 LSB and has a typical power dissipation of less than 10 milliwatts.
Designed for microprocessor-controlled gain circuits, attenuator circuits, and function generation, the AD7524SQ is available in a Q-16 package suitable for surface mounting. Its design eliminates the need for protection Schottky diodes and guarantees TTL compatibility when using a +5 V supply.
