The AD7524JNZ is a CMOS 8-bit buffered multiplying digital-to-analog converter (DAC) from Analog Devices. It features an R-2R architecture with external reference and provides a current unbuffered output with differential output capability. The device is designed for direct interface to most microprocessors via a parallel interface, with on-chip data latches for easy bus connection.
Key electrical specifications include 8-bit resolution, 1 channel, 500 ns settling time, and integral nonlinearity (INL) of ±0.5 LSB maximum. Typical power dissipation is 10 mW. The DAC operates from a single supply voltage of 5V to 15V and is guaranteed monotonic over the full operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. It is latch-up free and requires no protection Schottky diodes.
The AD7524JNZ is housed in a 16-pin plastic DIP package (16-DIP, 0.300" lead spacing) and is intended for through-hole mounting. It is suitable for microprocessor-controlled gain circuits, attenuator circuits, function generation, precision AGC circuits, and bus-structured instruments.
