The AD7524BQ is an 8-bit buffered multiplying CMOS digital-to-analog converter from Analog Devices. Designed for direct interface with most microprocessors, it features on-chip data latches and a parallel data interface compatible with 6800, 8085, Z80 and similar bus structures. The device operates from a supply voltage range of 5V to 15V and is TTL/CMOS compatible.
This multiplying DAC provides excellent 2- or 4-quadrant multiplying characteristics, making it suitable for microprocessor-controlled gain setting, attenuation, and signal control applications. The device guarantees monotonicity over the full temperature range and offers endpoint linearity with integral nonlinearity of ±0.25 LSB maximum at VDD = +15V. Typical power dissipation is less than 10 mW.
The AD7524BQ is packaged in a 16-pin ceramic dual-in-line package (16-CERDIP) with through-hole mounting. It operates over an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The latch-free design eliminates the need for protection Schottky diodes, simplifying system design.
