The AD7495ARZ is a 12-bit successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter from Analog Devices. It offers a maximum sampling rate of 1 MSPS with no pipeline delays, making it suitable for high-speed data acquisition systems. The device operates from a single 2.7V to 5.25V power supply and features low power dissipation: 4.5 mW max at 1 MSPS with 3V supplies and 10.5 mW max with 5V supplies.
It includes an on-board 2.5V reference (internal) and a track-and-hold amplifier capable of handling input frequencies above 1 MHz. The converter accepts a single-ended input and provides a signal-to-noise ratio of 68 dB at 300 kHz input frequency. The serial interface is compatible with SPI, QSPI, MICROWIRE, and DSP protocols, controlled by CS and SCLK.
Key design features include flexible power/serial clock speed management, a standby mode with 1 µA max current, and a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. The AD7495ARZ is housed in an 8-lead SOIC package (0.154", 3.90mm width) with surface-mount gull-wing terminals and a terminal pitch of 1.27 mm.
Typical applications include battery-powered systems, personal digital assistants, medical instruments, mobile communications, instrumentation and control systems, data acquisition systems, and optical sensors.
