The AD7476ARTZ-500RL7 is a 12-bit, high-speed, low-power successive approximation analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Analog Devices. It operates from a single 2.35V to 5.25V power supply and achieves throughput rates up to 1 MSPS. The device features a low noise, wide bandwidth track-and-hold amplifier capable of handling input frequencies in excess of 6 MHz. The conversion process and data acquisition are controlled using the chip select (CS) and serial clock (SCLK), allowing easy interfacing with microprocessors or DSPs via SPI or DSP-compatible serial interfaces. The ADC is specified for a supply voltage range of 2.35V to 5.25V and consumes low power: 3.6 mW at 1 MSPS with 3V supplies and 15 mW at 1 MSPS with 5V supplies. It includes a standby mode with 1 μA maximum current. The device is housed in a compact 6-lead SOT-23 package for surface mount applications. Typical applications include battery-powered systems, personal digital assistants, medical instruments, mobile communications, instrumentation and control systems, data acquisition systems, high speed modems, and optical sensors.
