The AD7304BR is a quad 8-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) from Analog Devices. It integrates four 8-bit DACs in a single 16-SOIC package, controlled via a high-speed 3-wire SPI serial interface. The device operates from a single 2.7V to 5.5V supply or dual ±5V supplies, consuming typically only 9mW at 3V.
Key electrical characteristics include a settling time of 2µs, rail-to-rail voltage buffered output, and an external reference input that accepts voltages from rail to rail. The reference multiplying bandwidth is 2.6 MHz, enabling AC signal applications. Integral and differential nonlinearity are ±1 LSB maximum.
The AD7304BR includes a power-down mode with 40µA shutdown current, ideal for power-sensitive designs. It operates over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range. The package is 16-SOIC (0.295" width, 7.50mm body) with surface mount mounting. This device is pin-compatible with the AD7226 and suitable for automotive, instrumentation, and digitally controlled calibration systems.
