The AD725ARZ is a low-cost RGB to NTSC/PAL video encoder from Analog Devices. It converts red, green, and blue color component signals into luminance and chrominance signals per NTSC or PAL standards, and provides composite video and S-Video (Y/C) outputs. The device operates from a single +5V supply (4.75V to 5.25V) and features a typical input amplitude of 714 mV p-p, input resistance of 1 MΩ, and input capacitance of 5 pF. It includes internal delay line and auto-tuned filters, and can drive 75Ω reverse-terminated loads. The AD725ARZ also offers a luma trap port to reduce cross-color artifacts and a power-down mode consuming less than 1 mA. It is packaged in a 16-SOIC (0.295", 7.50mm width) surface-mount package and is suitable for applications such as RGB/VGA to NTSC/PAL encoding, video games, video conference cameras, and digital still cameras.
