The AD725AR is a low cost RGB to NTSC/PAL encoder that converts red, green, and blue color component signals into luminance and chrominance signals in accordance with NTSC or PAL standards. These two outputs are combined on-chip to provide a composite video output. All three outputs are available separately at voltages twice standard signal levels for driving 75 Ω reverse-terminated cables.
The device features a luminance trap (YTRAP) pin to reduce cross color artifacts from subcarrier frequency components in the luminance signal. It operates from a single +5 V supply (4.75V to 5.25V) and can be powered down to less than 1 mA for power-sensitive applications. All logic levels are TTL compatible.
The AD725AR is packaged in a 16-lead SOIC (16-SOIC, 0.295" width, 7.50mm body) and is surface mount compatible. Typical applications include RGB/VGA to NTSC/PAL encoding for personal computers, network computers, video games, video conference cameras, and digital still cameras.
The supply voltage range is 4.75V to 5.25V.
The AD725AR is available in a 16-SOIC surface mount package (0.295" width, 7.50mm body).
The AD725AR supports both NTSC and PAL video standards.
The full scale input amplitude is 714 mV p-p.
Yes, the device can be powered down to less than 1 mA.
The AD725AR uses TTL logic levels.
