The AD724JR is a low-cost RGB to NTSC/PAL video encoder integrated circuit from Analog Devices. It converts red, green, and blue color component signals into luminance and chrominance signals according to NTSC or PAL standards, and also provides composite video output. The device operates from a single +5V supply (4.75V to 5.25V) and drives 75Ω reverse-terminated loads. All logical inputs are TTL, 3V and 5V CMOS compatible. The AD724JR accepts either FSC or 4FSC clock, or can use an external crystal (3.58 MHz for NTSC, 4.43 MHz for PAL) with its on-chip oscillator. It features on-chip DC clamp and decoding logic for sync signals. The encoder is housed in a 16-SOIC surface mount package (0.295" width, 7.50mm) and operates over 0°C to +70°C. Typical applications include RGB to NTSC or PAL encoding in video systems.
