The AD7249BR from Analog Devices is a monolithic CMOS dual 12-bit digital-to-analog converter with buffered voltage outputs and an internal Zener voltage reference. It requires no external trims to achieve full specified performance. The device uses an R-2R architecture and supports both external and internal reference configurations.
The converter provides two DAC channels with 12-bit resolution and a settling time of 10 µs. It interfaces via a standard SPI-compatible serial interface, and the 16-bit data word includes a channel-select bit. The analog supply range is ±11.4 V to ±15.75 V. INL/DNL are specified at ±0.5 LSB max and ±0.9 LSB max.
With its buffered outputs, the AD7249BR can drive 2 kΩ loads directly. The device is intended for industrial control, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems where dual, accurate analog outputs are needed. Operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.
The part is available in a 16-lead SOIC surface-mount package (16-SOIC) with a 0.295-inch body width. It is designed for compact PCBs and is suited to automated assembly.
