The AD7243BR is a complete 12-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) from Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated, integrating a Zener voltage reference and output amplifier on a single CMOS chip. It operates with single or dual supplies (±10.8V to ±16.5V) and provides three selectable output voltage ranges: -5V to +5V, 0V to +5V, and 0V to +10V. The serial peripheral interface (SPI) allows easy connection to microcontrollers and DSPs, with a DAC update rate up to 300 kHz. The buffered voltage output can drive a 2 kΩ load to +10V without external trimming. The architecture is R-2R, ensuring monotonic performance with an integral nonlinearity of ±0.5 LSB max and differential nonlinearity of ±0.9 LSB max over the temperature range -40°C to +85°C. Typical power dissipation is 100 mW. The device is housed in a surface-mount 16-SOIC package (0.295", 7.50mm width), suitable for industrial automation and process control applications.
