The AD7228KP is an LC2MOS octal 8-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) from Analog Devices. It integrates eight 8-bit DACs with output buffer amplifiers and interface logic on a single monolithic chip. No external trims are required to achieve full specified performance.
The device operates from a single or dual supply voltage of 13.5V to 16.5V and uses an external voltage reference. Data is transferred via an 8-bit parallel interface with address inputs A0, A1, and A2 selecting the target DAC latch. The control logic is speed-compatible with most 8-bit microprocessors.
The AD7228KP achieves a typical settling time of 5 µs and features an R-2R architecture, with integral nonlinearity of ±1 LSB maximum. It is available in a 28-lead PLCC surface-mount package (J-Lead), suitable for automated assembly. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.
