The AD7228ACNZ is an 8-bit octal digital-to-analog converter (DAC) from Analog Devices, integrating eight voltage-mode DACs with output buffer amplifiers on a single monolithic chip. No external trims are required to achieve full specified performance. The device is microprocessor-compatible with a 95 ns WR pulse and features separate on-chip latches for each DAC.
Electrical specifications include an 8-bit resolution, R-2R architecture, and a settling time of 5 µs (typical) and 7 µs (maximum). Integral nonlinearity (INL) and differential nonlinearity (DNL) are ±0.5 LSB and ±1 LSB maximum, respectively. The DAC operates with an external voltage reference and requires a supply voltage between 13.5V and 16.5V.
The parallel data interface uses address lines A0-A2 to select which DAC latch is loaded when WR is low, allowing efficient communication with 8-bit microprocessors. The device is housed in a 24-DIP (0.300", 7.62mm) through-hole package (24-PDIP) and operates over an industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
The supply voltage range is 13.5V to 16.5V.
It is available in a 24-DIP (0.300", 7.62mm) through-hole package, also referred to as 24-PDIP.
The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.
It is listed as RoHS3 Compliant, but this status is unverified. Confirm with the manufacturer for assurance.
It has eight DAC channels.
The settling time is 5 µs typical and 7 µs maximum.
It uses a parallel data interface.
