AD7226KP Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The AD7226KP from Analog Devices is a monolithic integrated circuit containing four 8-bit voltage-output digital-to-analog converters (DACs). Each DAC is equipped with output buffer amplifiers and interface logic, eliminating the need for external trims to achieve full specified performance. Separate on-chip latches are provided for each DAC, and data is transferred via a common 8-bit TTL/CMOS compatible input port.

This device is fabricated using a high-speed Linear Compatible CMOS (LC2MOS) process, enabling the integration of high-speed digital logic and precision analog circuits on a single chip. The AD7226KP offers microprocessor compatibility with a common 8-bit data bus and individual DAC latches. The output buffer amplifiers can drive up to 5 mA of output current, and their offsets are laser-trimmed during manufacture.

Specified performance is guaranteed for input reference voltages from 2 V to 12.5 V with dual supplies, and for single-supply operation at a reference of 10 V. The inherent DAC-to-DAC matching and tracking are advantages of its monolithic construction. The design allows for single-supply operation and provides a versatile control architecture for simple interface to microprocessors.
