AD7191BRUZ Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The AD7191BRUZ is a low noise, complete analog front end for high precision measurement applications. It contains a low noise, 24-bit sigma-delta (Σ-Δ) ADC. The on-chip low noise gain stage allows signals of small amplitude to be interfaced directly to the ADC. It has two differential analog inputs and includes a temperature sensor for compensation.

The device features pin-programmable output data rates of 10 Hz, 50 Hz, 60 Hz, and 120 Hz, with simultaneous 50 Hz and 60 Hz rejection at 10 Hz or 50 Hz. The on-chip PGA offers gains of 1, 8, 64, and 128, supporting full-scale differential input ranges from ±5 V (gain 1) down to ±39 mV (gain 128). Typical RMS noise is 15 nV at gain 128 and 10 Hz output rate, providing up to 21.5 noise-free bits at gain 1. Offset drift is 5 nV/°C and gain drift is 1 ppm/°C.

The AD7191BRUZ operates from a 3 V to 5.25 V supply, consuming 4.35 mA. It is housed in a 24-lead TSSOP package for surface mount assembly. The SPI-compatible interface includes a Schmitt trigger on SCLK. The device is specified over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +105°C. Typical applications include weigh scales, strain gauge transducers, pressure measurement, and medical instrumentation.
