The AD7173-8BCPZ from Analog Devices is a highly integrated, low power, 24-bit sigma-delta analog-to-digital converter designed for precision multichannel measurement applications. It features a flexible input multiplexer that can be configured as 8 full differential or 16 single-ended channels, along with an integrated precision 2.5 V reference and input buffers.
Key electrical specifications include a maximum output data rate of 31.25 kSPS, with 17.5 noise-free bits at full speed and 24 noise-free bits at 1.25 SPS. Integral nonlinearity (INL) is ±3 ppm of full scale range, and power supply rejection of 85 dB at 50/60 Hz with 50 ms settling is achieved. The ADC operates from a single 3.3 V or 5 V supply with a typical supply current of 1.4 mA.
The device communicates via a 3- or 4-wire SPI/DSP serial interface and supports CRC error checking. It is housed in a 40-lead 6 mm × 6 mm LFCSP package and is rated for operation from -40°C to +105°C. Typical applications include process control, pressure and temperature measurement, medical instrumentation, and seismology.
