The AD694BRZ-REEL7 is a monolithic current transmitter designed to drive standard 4-20 mA current loops for process control applications. It accepts high-level signal inputs and provides a precise current output.
It features precalibrated input ranges of 0 V to 2 V and 0 V to 10 V, selectable by pin strapping. Output ranges are programmable for 4-20 mA or 0-20 mA. The device includes a precision voltage reference programmable to 2.000 V or 10.000 V. Typical nonlinearity is 0.002%. Supply voltage range is 4.5 V to 36 V, with single or dual supply operation.
An input buffer amplifier allows scaling or buffering from a current-mode DAC. An open-loop alarm warns of an open 4-20 mA loop or output noncompliance. An optional external pass transistor can reduce self-heating errors. The output compliance extends to within 2 V of the supply voltage.
The device is offered in a 16-SOIC surface-mount package (0.295" width, 7.50mm width) and operates over -40°C to +85°C. It is supplied on tape and reel (REEL7).
