The AD693AD from Analog Devices is a versatile, loop-powered signal conditioning circuit that translates low-level transducer inputs into a standard 4-20 mA current loop output. It features an instrumentation amplifier front end, allowing for precalibrated input spans of 30 mV or 60 mV, with other spans achievable using external resistors.
The device offers independently adjustable output span and zero, supporting standard output ranges such as 4-20 mA, 0-20 mA, and 12 ± 8 mA. It includes a 6.2 V reference with up to 3.5 mA of excitation current available in loop-powered mode, or it can be locally powered for 0-20 mA operation.
