The AD677AD is a 16-bit successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Analog Devices. It offers a sampling rate of 100 kSPS and features an on-chip sample-and-hold function. The device utilizes autocalibration to ensure excellent DC performance without external adjustments.
Key electrical specifications include a typical integral nonlinearity (INL) of ±1 LSB, signal-to-noise and distortion (SINAD) of 92 dB, and total harmonic distortion (THD) of -99 dB. The full power bandwidth is 1 MHz. The input voltage range is ±VREF (typically ±5V to ±10V) with a single-ended input configuration.
The ADC communicates via a serial peripheral interface (SPI) and requires an external reference. Power consumption is 450 mW typical with a 10V reference. The device operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
The AD677AD is housed in a 16-pin CDIP (0.300", 7.62mm) package with through-hole mounting. It is suitable for industrial and instrumentation applications requiring high accuracy and moderate speed.
