The AD669BNZ DACPORT® from Analog Devices Inc. is a fully integrated 16-bit monolithic digital-to-analog converter. Manufactured using the BiMOS II process, it combines low-power CMOS logic with high-precision bipolar linear circuitry. This device includes current switches, decoding logic, an output amplifier, a buried Zener reference, and double-buffered latches.
Key electrical specifications include a 16-bit resolution, ±0.003% integral linearity error, and 15-bit monotonicity over temperature. The on-chip output amplifier provides a voltage output settling time of 10 μs to within 1/2 LSB for a full-scale step. It supports both unipolar (0 V to +10 V) and bipolar (–10 V to +10 V) output ranges, which are pin programmable.
Data is loaded via a 16-bit parallel interface, controlled by CS, L1, and LDAC signals that are compatible with TTL/LSTTL/5 V CMOS. The double-buffered latch structure prevents data skew errors, enabling simultaneous updates in multi-DAC systems. The AD669BNZ offers low glitch energy of 15 nV-s and low THD+N of 0.009%.
This component is available in a 28-pin SOIC package suitable for surface mounting. Versions compliant to MIL-STD-883 are also available, though specific specifications for those variants are detailed in a separate datasheet.
