AD6640AST Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The AD6640AST from Analog Devices is a high-speed, high-performance, low-power, 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC). It offers a guaranteed minimum sample rate of 65 MSPS and maintains 80 dB spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) over a bandwidth of 25 MHz. This ADC is designed for applications requiring IF sampling up to 70 MHz.

Key features include a single 5 V supply, on-chip track-and-hold (T/H) and reference, and CMOS-compatible digital outputs that can operate at 3.3 V or 5 V for easy interfacing with digital ASICs. The device exhibits excellent noise performance with a typical signal-to-noise ratio of 68 dB and low power dissipation of 710 mW.

The AD6640AST is built on Analog Devices’ high-speed complementary bipolar process (XFCB). It is packaged in a compact 44-lead plastic quad flatpack (LQFP) with dimensions of 10x10 mm, suitable for surface mounting. The operating temperature range is specified from -40°C to +85°C.

This ADC is well-suited for multichannel, multimode receivers, cellular/PCS base stations, GPS anti-jamming receivers, and other communications receiver applications.
