AD592BN Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The Analog Devices AD592BN is a two-terminal monolithic integrated circuit temperature transducer that provides an output current proportional to absolute temperature. It acts as a high impedance temperature-dependent current source of 1 uA/K over a wide range of supply voltages from +4V to +30V.

This precision IC temperature transducer offers high precalibrated accuracy of 0.5°C max at +25°C and excellent linearity of 0.15°C max between 0°C and +70°C. The AD592BN is suitable for applications operating within a wide temperature range of -25°C to +105°C. Its inherent low cost and minimal parts count make it a cost-effective solution for temperature sensing.

The AD592BN is packaged in a TO-92-3 case and is designed for through-hole mounting. Its high impedance current output makes it immune to voltage drops and noise over long lines, making it particularly useful in remote sensing applications. It can be easily multiplexed using CMOS multiplexers or enabled with a tri-state logic gate.

Typical application areas include appliance temperature sensing, automotive temperature measurement and control, HVAC system monitoring, industrial temperature control, and board-level electronics temperature diagnostics.
