The AD590KF/883B from Analog Devices is a 2-terminal integrated circuit temperature transducer that outputs a current proportional to absolute temperature. It operates over a wide temperature range of -55°C to +150°C and supports a supply voltage range of 4V to 30V.
This device functions as a high impedance, constant current regulator, outputting 1 μA/K. It is laser trimmed for accuracy, offering ±2.5°C at 25°C. The AD590 is suitable for various temperature sensing applications below 150°C, eliminating the need for linearization circuitry or precision voltage amplifiers.
Available in a 2-lead Ceramic Flatpack, the AD590KF/883B is designed for surface mount applications. Its current output makes it insensitive to voltage drops over long lines, making it useful for remote sensing. Applications include temperature measurement, compensation, flow rate measurement, and level detection.
