The AD590JH/883B from Analog Devices is a 2-terminal integrated circuit temperature transducer that outputs a current proportional to absolute temperature. It operates over a wide temperature range of -55°C to 150°C and requires a supply voltage between 4V and 30V.
This device acts as a high impedance, constant current regulator, outputting 1 μA/K. It is laser trimmed for accuracy, offering ±0.5°C calibration accuracy and ±0.3°C linearity over its full range (for AD590M variants). The AD590 is suitable for various temperature sensing applications below 150°C, eliminating the need for linearization circuitry, precision voltage amplifiers, or resistance measuring circuitry.
Available in a TO-52-3 package, the AD590JH/883B is designed for through-hole mounting. Its current output makes it insensitive to voltage drops over long lines, making it useful for remote sensing applications. The device is also suitable for applications such as temperature compensation, flow rate measurement, and fluid level detection.
