The AD569JN is a monolithic 16-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) manufactured using Analog Devices' BiMOS II process. It integrates two resistor strings, selector switches, decoding logic, buffer amplifiers, and double-buffered input latches on a single chip. The segmented DAC architecture ensures 16-bit monotonicity over time and temperature.
Key electrical specifications include a typical settling time of 6 µs to ±0.001% for a full-scale step, integral nonlinearity of ±0.02 LSB (max), and differential nonlinearity of ±0.5 LSB (max). The device accepts an external reference voltage and provides a voltage-buffered output. The parallel data interface allows 8- and 16-bit bus compatibility.
The AD569JN is supplied in a 28-lead PDIP package (0.600" width) with through-hole mounting. It operates over the commercial temperature range of 0°C to 70°C and requires a dual analog supply of ±10.8V to ±13.2V. The device is suitable for applications such as robotics, closed-loop positioning, high-resolution ADC reference circuits, and microprocessor-based process control.
