The AD5541LR is a single 16-bit, serial-input, voltage-output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) from Analog Devices. It operates from a single 2.7V to 5.5V supply and provides an unbuffered voltage output ranging from 0V to VREF. The DAC uses an R-2R architecture and offers a settling time of 1 µs typical, with low power dissipation of 0.625 mW. It guarantees monotonic performance with ±0.5 LSB typical INL and DNL.
The device supports SPI and DSP-compatible serial interfaces, making it easy to integrate with microcontrollers and DSPs. It includes a power-on reset that clears the DAC output to 0V in unipolar mode. The AD5541LR also features low noise (11.8 nV/√Hz) and low output glitch (1.1 nV·s), suitable for precision applications such as digital gain and offset adjustment, automatic test equipment, data acquisition systems, and industrial process control.
The AD5541LR is housed in an 8-SOIC surface-mount package (0.154", 3.90mm width) with a gull wing termination and 1.27 mm lead pitch. It is rated for an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C (per datasheet) and has an ESD rating of 5 kV HBM.
