The AD5541JRZ is a 16-bit single-channel digital-to-analog converter (DAC) from Analog Devices. It features an R-2R architecture and provides an unbuffered voltage output capable of driving 60 kΩ loads directly. The device operates from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply with a typical settling time of 1 µs. It uses a 3-wire SPI-/QSPI-/MICROWIRE-compatible serial interface (also supporting DSP) and includes a power-on reset that clears the DAC output to 0 V.
With a low power dissipation of 0.625 mW, low glitch energy of 1.1 nV-sec, and low noise of 11.8 nV/√Hz, the AD5541JRZ is suitable for high-precision applications. The output range is from 0 V to the external reference voltage VREF. The DAC is guaranteed monotonic with ±0.5 LSB INL and DNL typical.
The device is offered in an 8-pin SOIC surface-mount package (8-SOIC, 0.154" width) and rated for operation from 0°C to 70°C. Typical applications include automatic test equipment, data acquisition systems, industrial process control, and digital gain/offset adjustment.
