The AD5422BREZ is a precision 16-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) from Analog Devices, designed for industrial process control applications. It provides a single buffered output that can be configured as either voltage or current, accommodating output ranges such as 4-20 mA, 0-20 mA, 0-24 mA, and various voltage ranges (0-5V, 0-10V, ±5V, ±10V) with 10% overrange capability.
The device features a flexible serial interface supporting both SPI and DSP protocols, allowing easy integration with microcontrollers and DSPs. It incorporates an internal or external reference, and achieves excellent linearity with ±1.3 LSB maximum INL. The DAC architecture is R-2R, ensuring monotonic performance.
Packaged in a compact 24-TSSOP with exposed pad (24-TSSOP-EP), the AD5422BREZ is surface mount and operates over an extended industrial temperature range of -40°C to 105°C. The analog supply voltage ranges from 2.7V to 5.5V, with separate analog and digital supplies. The part includes on-chip output fault detection and an asynchronous clear function.
With its combination of high resolution, flexible output modes, and robust industrial temperature range, the AD5422BREZ is suitable for PLCs, actuator controls, and other process control equipment.
