The AD5380BSTZ-3 is a 14-bit, 40-channel voltage output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) from Analog Devices. It uses a String DAC architecture and provides buffered voltage outputs with rail-to-rail swing. The device operates from a single 2.7V to 5.5V supply and features a typical settling time of 8 µs. It supports multiple digital interfaces including I²C, SPI, parallel, and DSP-compatible protocols, with data readback capability.
This DAC includes an on-chip 1.25V/2.5V reference with 10 ppm/°C drift, and offers integrated functions such as channel monitoring, simultaneous output update via LDAC, clear to user-programmable code, amplifier boost mode for slew rate optimization, and user-programmable offset and gain adjustment. The device is rated for operation over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range.
Packaged in a 100-lead LQFP (14x14 mm) surface-mount package, the AD5380BSTZ-3 provides robust ESD protection with 6.5 kV HBM and 2 kV FICDM ratings. It is commonly used in variable optical attenuators (VOA), automatic test equipment (ATE) level setting, optical MEMS control, and general instrumentation systems.
