The AD534SH from Analog Devices is a monolithic, laser-trimmed, four-quadrant multiplier/divider. It provides accuracy previously found only in expensive hybrid modules, with a maximum multiplication error of ±0.25% guaranteed for the AD534L grade without external trimming.
Key features include fully differential, high-impedance inputs on all terminals (X, Y, and Z), enabling flexible operation. The scale factor is pretrimmed to 10.00 V and can be adjusted down to 3 V using an external resistor. The device boasts a low noise design with 90 μV rms from 10 Hz to 10 kHz and excellent long-term stability.
Applications for the AD534SH include high-quality analog signal processing, differential ratio and percentage computations, algebraic and trigonometric function synthesis, wideband RMS-to-DC conversion, and voltage-controlled oscillators and filters. It is available in TO-100 metal cans and SBDIP packages, suitable for through-hole mounting.
Different grades are available, including AD534J (±1% error), AD534K (±0.5% error), and AD534L (±0.25% error) for the 0°C to +70°C temperature range, and AD534S (±1% error) and AD534T (±0.5% error) for the extended −55°C to +125°C range.
