The Analog Devices AD534KD is a high-precision, monolithic laser-trimmed four-quadrant multiplier/divider. It achieves a maximum multiplication error of ±0.25% for the AD534L grade without external trimming, previously only available in expensive hybrid modules.
This IC features fully differential, high impedance inputs on X, Y, and Z, enhancing flexibility. The transfer function is VOUT = A * [(X1 – X2)(Y1 – Y2)/10 V] + Z2. The scale factor is pretrimmed to 10.00 V and can be adjusted down to 3 V with an external resistor, providing up to 100x gain. It boasts a low noise design with 90 μV rms from 10 Hz to 10 kHz and excellent long-term stability.
Applications include high-quality analog signal processing, differential ratio and percentage computations, algebraic and trigonometric function synthesis, wideband RMS-to-DC conversion, and voltage-controlled oscillators and filters. The AD534KD is available in a TO-100 package.
