The AD5338ARMZ-1 is a dual 10-bit buffered voltage output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) from Analog Devices. It is part of the AD5337/AD5338/AD5339 family, which includes 8-, 10-, and 12-bit versions. Each DAC provides a voltage output that is buffered with rail-to-rail output amplifiers, allowing a swing from 0V to the reference voltage (VREF). The device operates from a single 2.5V to 5.5V supply, consuming only 250 µA at 3V and 300 µA at 5V, making it suitable for low-power applications.
The AD5338ARMZ-1 uses a 2-wire I²C-compatible serial interface that supports clock rates up to 400 kHz. It includes three power-down modes, reducing current consumption to 80 nA at 3V and 200 nA at 5V. The DAC features a settling time of 9 µs, a slew rate of 0.7 V/µs, and guaranteed monotonicity by design. The device also offers a power-on reset to 0V, simultaneous update of outputs via LDAC function, and a software clear facility.
Packaged in an 8-lead MSOP (also available in 8-TSSOP), the AD5338ARMZ-1 is designed for surface-mount assembly. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +105°C, suitable for industrial and portable applications. The device is listed as RoHS3 compliant (unverified).
