The AD5320BRTZ-500RL7 is a single 12-bit buffered voltage output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) from Analog Devices. It operates from a 2.7V to 5.5V supply and consumes only 140 µA at 5V, making it suitable for micropower applications. The on-chip precision output buffer provides rail-to-rail output swing. The device uses a 3-wire serial interface compatible with SPI, QSPI, MICROWIRE, and DSP interfaces, supporting clock rates up to 30 MHz.
Key specifications include a settling time of 10 µs, guaranteed monotonicity, and power-on reset to zero volts. The DAC is based on a string architecture and offers integral nonlinearity (INL) of ±16 LSB max and differential nonlinearity (DNL) of ±1 LSB max. It operates over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to 105°C and is available in a 6-lead SOT-23 package for surface-mount assembly.
Typical applications include portable battery-powered instruments, digital gain and offset adjustment, programmable voltage and current sources, and programmable attenuators. The device features three power-down functions and a power-down current as low as 50 nA at 3V.
