The AD53041KRP from Analog Devices is a complete, high-speed current switching load designed for linear, digital, or mixed-signal test systems. It features a 650 mA voltage-programmable current range and a propagation delay of 1.7 ns.
This IC is designed to force the device under test to source or sink programmed IOH and IOL currents, which are set by applying a voltage to the IOHPGM and IOLPGM pins. The voltage-to-current conversion is handled internally, allowing current levels to be set by a standard voltage-output DAC. The commutation voltage is programmable from -2 V to +7 V.
An Inhibit Mode function allows the active load to be electrically removed from the path, switching to a high impedance state with typical leakage current of 100 nA. The inhibit input circuitry uses high-speed differential inputs with a common-mode voltage range of -2 V to +3 V. Switching speeds from IOH or IOL into inhibit are less than 2.0 ns.
The AD53041KRP is housed in an ultrasmall 20-lead PSOP package with a built-in heatsink, suitable for surface mounting. Applications include automatic test equipment, semiconductor test systems, and board test systems.
