The AD5300BRM is a single 8-bit buffered voltage output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) from Analog Devices. It operates from a 2.7V to 5.5V supply and features micropower operation with typical supply current of 140 µA at 5V. The on-chip output buffer amplifier allows rail-to-rail output swing, and the power-down mode reduces current to 200 nA at 5V.
The device uses a versatile 3-wire serial interface compatible with SPI, QSPI, MICROWIRE, and DSP standards, supporting clock rates up to 30 MHz. The DAC architecture is string type with guaranteed monotonicity. Integral nonlinearity is ±1 LSB max, and differential nonlinearity is ±0.25 LSB max. The reference is derived from the supply voltage, simplifying design.
Typical applications include portable battery-powered instruments, digital gain and offset adjustment, programmable voltage and current sources, and programmable attenuators. The AD5300BRM is available in an 8-lead MSOP package (also compatible with 8-TSSOP footprint) and is qualified for automotive applications. Operating temperature range is -40°C to 105°C.
