The AD2S80ATD is a monolithic tracking resolver-to-digital converter manufactured on Analog Devices' BiMOS II process. It is housed in a 40-lead ceramic DIP package and allows user selection of resolution between 10, 12, 14, and 16 bits via external components. The device uses ratiometric tracking conversion for high noise immunity and tolerance of long cable lengths between the converter and the resolver.
Key electrical specifications include a dual supply voltage range of ±10.8V to ±13.2V, typical power consumption of 300 mW, and a reference frequency range of 50 Hz to 20 kHz. At 10-bit resolution, the maximum tracking rate reaches 1040 revolutions per second (62,400 rpm). The data interface is parallel, providing a natural binary digital word output.
The AD2S80ATD features two channels and operates over the full military temperature range of -55°C to +125°C. It is designed for through-hole mounting in a 40-CDIP (0.600", 15.24mm) package. Applications include DC brushless and AC motor control, process control, numerical control of machine tools, robotics, axis control, and military servo systems.
The supply voltage range is ±10.8V to ±13.2V (dual supply).
It is available in a 40-CDIP (0.600", 15.24mm) through-hole ceramic package.
