The AD2S1210BSTZ is a complete monolithic resolver-to-digital converter from Analog Devices. It integrates an on-board programmable sinusoidal oscillator for resolver excitation and provides absolute position and velocity outputs. The converter offers user-selectable resolution from 10 to 16 bits.
It features dual-channel operation, supporting both serial and parallel data interfaces. The device operates from a nominal 5V supply (4.75V to 5.25V) with a logic interface voltage range of 2.3V to 5.25V. The maximum tracking rate reaches 3125 rps at 10-bit resolution with a 10.24 MHz clock input.
The AD2S1210BSTZ is housed in a 48-lead LQFP (7x7 mm) package for surface mount assembly. The operating temperature range is specified as -40°C to +85°C (low confidence from existing data) or -40°C to +125°C per datasheet for certain grades. It is RoHS3 compliant (confidence low) and has MSL Level 1.
Applications include DC and AC servo motor control, encoder emulation, electric power steering, electric vehicles, and automotive motion sensing. The device includes system fault detection, differential inputs, and incremental encoder emulation.
