The AD22050N from Analog Devices is a single-supply difference amplifier designed for amplifying and low-pass filtering small differential voltages from sources with large common-mode voltages. It operates over a supply voltage range of 3.0V to 36V, with a typical supply current of only 200 µA. The device provides a fixed gain of 320, which is adjustable from 31 to 3160 using external resistors. It includes provisions for 1-, 2-, or 3-pole low-pass filtering and an accurate midscale offset capability for bipolar signals.
The input common-mode voltage range extends from -1.0V to +24V, and the common-mode rejection ratio is 90 dB typical (DC to 10 Hz) and 75 dB typical at 10 kHz. Differential input resistance is 400 kΩ, and common-mode input resistance is 240 kΩ typical. The amplifier is designed to drive a 1 kΩ load to +4V with a +5V supply. It also includes transient spike protection and RFI filters.
The AD22050N is housed in an 8-pin DIP package (0.300", 7.62mm) with through-hole mounting. It is specified for the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. Typical applications include current sensing, motor control, and interfacing with pressure transducers, position indicators, and strain gauges.
