The AD1866RZ is a complete dual 16-bit digital-to-analog converter designed for audio applications. It is fabricated on Analog Devices' ABCMOS process and includes CMOS logic elements, bipolar and MOS linear elements, and laser-trimmed thin-film resistors. The device offers excellent audio performance with a typical THD+N of 0.005% and channel separation of 115 dB.
The DACs employ a partially segmented architecture where the first three MSBs are segmented into 7 elements, and the 13 LSBs use standard R-2R techniques. Each DAC includes a high-performance output amplifier. The device operates from a single +5V supply and dissipates only 50 mW of power.
The AD1866RZ is available in a 16-SOIC surface-mount package with gull-wing leads. It uses a serial data interface and supports input clock rates up to 16 MHz. The buffered output provides a voltage range of 1.5V to 3.5V with ±1 mA output current capability.
The AD1866RZ has a resolution of 16 bits.
The typical THD+N is 0.005%.
The AD1866RZ operates from a single +5V supply, with a range of 3.5V to 5.25V.
The AD1866RZ is available in a 16-SOIC surface-mount package.
The operating temperature range is -35°C to 85°C.
The typical channel separation is 115 dB.
The typical power dissipation is 50 mW.
