The Allegro MicroSystems ACS723LLCTR-10AU-T is an economical and precise Hall effect current sensor IC suitable for AC or DC current sensing in industrial, commercial, and communications systems. Its small SOIC8 package is ideal for space-constrained applications, reducing board area and costs.
This device features a precise, low-offset, linear Hall sensor circuit with a low internal resistance copper conduction path. Applied current generates a magnetic field sensed by the Hall IC, producing a proportional voltage output. The ACS723 offers a sensitivity of 400mV/A with an accuracy of ±3% and linearity of ±1%. It operates at 5V and can measure up to 10A DC current with a frequency response up to 80kHz.
The sensor IC includes patented digital temperature compensation for accurate performance over temperature. The output is ratiometric and voltage-based, with a unidirectional polarization for DC measurements. The response time is a quick 5µs.
Designed for high-side current sensing, the ACS723's terminals are electrically isolated from the sensor leads, eliminating the need for costly isolation techniques. It is mounted via surface mount technology and comes in an 8-SOIC package (0.154", 3.90mm width). The operating temperature range is -40°C to 150°C.
