The Allegro ACS723LLCTR-05AB-T is a Hall effect current sensor IC providing an economical and precise solution for AC or DC current sensing in industrial, commercial, and communications systems. Its small 8-SOIC package is ideal for space-constrained applications.
This sensor IC features a 5A current measurement range with bidirectional polarization and operates at 5V. It provides a ratiometric voltage output with a sensitivity of 400mV/A and an accuracy of ±3%. The device has a fast response time of 5µs and a frequency response up to 80kHz.
Typical applications include motor control, load detection and management, switched-mode power supplies, and overcurrent fault protection. The internal resistance of the conductive path is 0.65 mΩ typical, resulting in low power loss. The device is suitable for surface mount applications and operates across a wide temperature range of -40°C to 150°C.
