The Allegro ACS711KEXLT-15AB-T is a Hall-effect linear current sensor IC providing economical and precise AC or DC current sensing solutions. It features a single-package solution with no external sense resistor required, reducing power loss through its internal conductor resistance of 0.6 mΩ for the EX package and 1.2 mΩ for the LC package.
This device offers full-scale sensing ranges of ±15.5 A and ±31 A for the EX package, and ±12.5 A and ±25 A for the LC package. It operates with a single supply voltage from 3 to 5.5 V and has a low-noise analog signal path with a 100 kHz bandwidth. The ACS711 is optimized for low-side current sensing applications and is available in small, surface-mount SOIC8 and QFN12 packages.
Typical applications include circuit protection, current monitoring, and motor and inverter control. The device's output voltage is proportional to the AC or DC current flowing through its integrated copper conduction path, which generates a magnetic field sensed by the Hall IC.
