The AB1815-T3 is part of the AB18X5 family of Real-Time Clocks with integrated power management from Abracon. It features an ultra-low supply current of 14 nA with RC oscillator operation, making it ideal for battery-powered and energy-harvesting applications. This device supports both SPI (up to 2 MHz) interfaces and provides advanced timekeeping functions including alarm, leap year compensation, watchdog timer, and 256 bytes of general-purpose SRAM.
The RTC offers exceptional timing accuracy with crystal calibration to ±2 ppm and RC calibration to ±16 ppm. It includes a programmable output clock generator from 32.768 kHz to 1-year periods, a countdown timer with repeat function, and automatic RC-to-crystal calibration. Power management features include a ~1 Ω power switch for off-chip components, supercapacitor trickle charger with programmable current, and automatic switchover to backup battery (VBAT).
The device is available in a compact 3x3 mm 16-pin QFN package (16-VFQFN Exposed Pad) with surface mount mounting. It operates over the full industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C and maintains clock and RAM retention down to 1.5V.
