The AAT3604B from Skyworks Solutions is a micropower Power Management Unit (PMU) optimized for lithium-ion battery life in portable devices. This highly integrated device simplifies system design by incorporating a step-up (boost) converter, a step-down (buck) converter, an LDO regulator, and a single-cell battery charger into a single package.
The boost converter offers a high efficiency output up to 27V, suitable for OLED, LCD, and CCD applications, with a true load disconnect feature. The integrated buck converter operates at up to 1.6MHz, minimizing external component size while maintaining high efficiency. The LDO regulator provides 60dB power supply rejection ratio and low noise operation, ideal for sensitive loads.
The device includes a complete, thermally protected linear battery charger with constant current/constant voltage regulation, charge status indication, and termination. It is available in a 24-pin QFN package, suitable for space-constrained designs.
Key electrical specifications include an input voltage range of 2.7V to 4.5V and a typical standby ground current of only 70µA. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 70°C. The AAT3604BISK-T1 is designed for general-purpose applications requiring efficient power management in a compact form factor.
