AAT1270IFO-T1 Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The AAT1270IFO-T1 from Skyworks Solutions is a 1A step-up current regulator designed for LED photo flash applications in single-cell Lithium-ion/polymer battery-powered products.

This device features a high switching frequency of 2MHz, allowing for the use of small inductors and output capacitors, making it suitable for compact designs. It provides up to 1A of regulated output current, with 0.5A available per channel, and operates within an input voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V. The efficiency can reach up to 85% with small magnetics.

The AAT1270IFO-T1 includes Skyworks' proprietary S2Cwire™ serial digital interface for enabling, disabling, and setting movie mode current to one of 16 levels. It also has separate Flash Enable and Flash Inhibit inputs. The maximum flash and movie mode current is set by a single external resistor, with a fixed flash-to-movie mode current ratio of approximately 7.3:1. The device supports connecting one or two LEDs, matching output current between diodes if two are used.

Packaged in a 14-pin STDFN (3x3mm) with an exposed pad, the AAT1270IFO-T1 is surface-mount compatible. It operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. The device incorporates over-voltage protection, thermal management, and built-in circuitry to prevent excessive inrush current. Its shutdown current is less than 1.0µA.
