The A8436EEJTR-T by Allegro MicroSystems is a highly integrated circuit designed to charge photoflash capacitors for digital and film cameras. It also includes an integrated IGBT driver, simplifying flash discharge functionality and saving board space.
This device utilizes a 40V DMOS switch in a flyback topology for optimized capacitor charging efficiency. It offers three levels of switch current limit (1.0 A, 1.2 A, and 1.4 A), configurable via the ILIM pin. The CHARGE pin initiates and controls the charging process, with the DONE pin indicating when the target output voltage is reached.
The A8436EEJTR-T can operate with batteries such as two Alkaline/NiMH/NiCAD cells or a single Li+ cell, accepting an input voltage (VIN) from 3.0 V to 5.5 V. It also requires a bias voltage (VBIAS) between 1.5 V and 5.5 V.
